Arista

The internet is working a bit this morning it took an hour to upload these pictures. The trip from Hogar Infantil to Arista was beautiful it was through the mountains.but like most Mexican roads no pull offs to take pictures.

The beach at Arista I have no idea how long it is but in both directions that is all you can see.

The girls enjoying a walk on the beach

The campground is nice Its a large place I think 6 acres. We have water and have a long extension cord run to the bathroom for electricity. Its very quiet and feels like you are in a piece of paradise.

The town was a bit depressed It felt like one time it was a going concern but has died now. Many empty buildings There are a lot of restaurants on the beach but I think there was only 6 people on the hole beach so maybe its a weekend place for the Mexicans. We walked down a back street to get back to the park and the road was like the place where you dump your dead animals we could smell something dead  before we started to see the dead dogs and the dead chickens not sure what else but it sure smelt bad. That kind of put us off for this place. Today we are going to drive down to another beach to check it out and maybe the next day we will be heading out of here looks like we are going to head up the coast.

Hogar Infantil day 5

First I have to say sorry for so many pictures I have a couple hundred more if you want them...lol...I was playing with my old camera this morning and found the macro setting so the first 2 pic. were me fooling around. Hard to believe what these little guys can carry.

So today's plan was to go see the waterfalls. Aguacero its about 15 minutes from where we are camped. The road into it was not the best this picture was out the window of the Tracker no guard rails here.

Then after you get to the parking spot you get to walk down the stairs only 705 not bad going down.

And when you get to the bottom you have to walk through the river its sand and some fast moving water.

Brenda being brave climbing up some of them.

Lara showing off climbing even higher.

Lara trying to keep dry that lasted about 2 minutes.

They sure are some thing to see.

I have no idea how many different falls there are.

Walking up the river you had to do some tricky climbing.

And then there is Lara if its there it needs to be climbed.

What do I say beautiful

And there is Lara again.

So many different falls it was spectacular.

This section I didn't walk up it was waist deep.

We are in Mexico in the middle of no where and we meet a couple from Ottawa. Nick and Joelle

They were going to go to Costa Rica but have now run out of time so its just going to be Mexico. The funniest thing was we introduced our self's and they both say Turtleondowntheroad. how funny is that.

Another great shot

Nick floating down the river.

The last picture before the 705 steps easy going down not so easy going up. That was a long walk back to the top.
We found another trail at the top that lead to a cave with a river under ground.

It was total darkness there was a sign that you could go for a boat ride in it. we could see the boat but nothing I would do ride a boat in the dark under ground.

The girls climbing back out of the cave.

After that we went to centro to buy the girls a present and we bought all the kids pop and chips they said they would have them Friday for movie night.

The girls came over and we gave them some Cheetos and a necklace and 3 new movies.

And they gave us scarfs they had made so nice it was fun getting to know them. And will remember them forever.

Hogar Infantil day4

Yesterday we didn't go to the water fall the weather was rotten it was a windy day with a lite rain more like a mist all day. I went to town with Brenda to buy the groceries that the girls needed for our meal. That was fun we had a groceries list in Spanish. We had no idea what was on the list we tried to use Google translate but that didn't help. We found a small store and gave the list to the boy that  worked there they had every thing except the Limes and cheese. We were in the store and a woman says you speak English and she calls her husband in he was in the car out front he gets out of his car with a baby. So he spoke English and it was more for him to practice his English.  He did tell us what was on the list and how to get to market to get the rest of the stuff. He had taken a year of English in school and never gets to use it so he was very happy to talk to us that was fun. Then we headed over to the market for the limes and cheese. And what a market it was it covered about 5 blocks they had just taken over the streets all that could get down the streets are there little 3 wheeled taxis. I wish I would have taken the camera but forgot it. In fact I forgot it twice we went back to the RV and an hour later went back to market with Lara so she could see it. Then at 6 the girls come over with our meal but had to go have a shower first than they would come back and we could eat it. So an hour later they come back all dressed up in there best. And we had a pasta dish they made enough to feed 10 and it was good. The main feature was this they called it a lemon pie. It had peaches on the top and was really good. They were so proud and excited that we liked it. Talk about 2 happy girls.

Boa showing Lara how big to cut the pieces.

Lara was so happy the girls were here. They had a lot of fun giggling and carrying on like young girls do.

Lara got to learn more Spanish they used Google translate for the words we didn't get so it was a fun time, And we got to learn some new words not that I can remember any of them today but I am sure Lara well. By 8.30 they had to leave because school starts at 7 AM They said they would come over tonight again.

Hogar Infantil day 3

First thing in the morning Brenda and I went for a walk up the hill behind the Orphanage. We never made it to the top way to high and there was no trail so it was had going. I did climb on top of the water tank they have way up the hill to take some pictures.

Then we took off for the Canyon. This is Brenda and Lara waiting for the boat. We never did figure out what was going on people would come and they would load a boat and take off we were thinking that they were going to put us on a boat with an english speaking guide. There was 6 others ther that could speak english. But no finally they loaded us and off we went and there was no englih.

Some of the young English guys from London they are traveling almost all of south america.

This is a spot where the Vultures gather no idea why could not under stand what the guy was saying.

It is a good trip lots of good views

It was on a river but the river is dammed up for electricity I was wondering what it was like before they dammed it I bet there was some good rapids through here.

We did get to see some crocs.

It sure is along way to the top I never did look it up to see how high the walls were.

This was a neet formation where the water is dripping down and forming these neat formations.Too much sun to get a good picture.

When we got to the damm there is a boat tied up there that sells all the good stuff chips pop and beer guess what the girls chose.

This is heading back into the canyon after the beer brake.

And we got to see more crocs.

It took a couple of hours to do the trip  I think if you are down here it is definitely worth it. We were going to drive to the top to look down into the canyon but it was getting late in the day by the time we stoped and had some thing to eat, So we didn't go. Maybe today if we have time. We are going to some water fall today with some 700 steps so I don't know if I will have the energy to drive back to the canyon.
