We left Laredo at about 10:30 because we found we had a bunch of hitch hikers, ants. They seemed to be every where. It took quite awhile to get rid of them, well I hope they are gone.T he traffic was pretty good until we got near San Antonio then it got a little heavy.
I guess there must be money in smuggling aliens for 300 to lose there commercial drivers license.
We saw a few of these RV's parked at the entrances to some oil rigs.I looked it up and these people are mostly retired and work for the oil company checking trucks and equipment in. They work 24 hours a day and are there until the rigs move on. Some are for a few weeks others are for 5 or 6 months.I guess you have to do what ever you have to to spend your winter in the warm weather.
These are some of the wild flowers along the roads
We tucked in Myrtle. All the lots are pretty large.
The park is on the Guadalupe river. It looks pretty nice.Tomorrow we might take the raft ride down the river. It only cost 22 dollars each and takes about 3 hours.
This Owl came to visit us, I have no idea what kind it is but it was fun to watch.
About those ants- be sure to get them ALL out. You do not want them at home. If I am correct, they are most likely Argentinian ants and they are *very* prolific breeders- they have multiple queens in a colony. They are incredibly hard to kill and in fact, scientists believe that one colony resides underneath the whole of Australia's capitol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_ant
