Today we were up and on the road by 8 am. We were headed for Tehuamtepic which was a 2.5 hour drive or if it was a good drive we were going to Bahias de Huatulco. Well it was not a good drive once we hit the wind mills a police pulled us over and warned us about the wind but said we could go if we wanted to. All the other trucks were still going so we went for it. At about 25 kilometers I pulled into a Pemex station. At that point I was driving at about 5 kil. an hour and the RV was on a 45 degree angle they said the wind was over 70 kilometers an hour the RV was just bouncing around the parking lot of the Pemex some of the gusts we thought the she was going over.
I had heard about this place but never paid it much mind. I just figured if the trucks were running it would be ok. This is the biggest wind farm I have ever seen.
This is how the trucks drive in the wind the heavy loaded truck blocks the wind for the lighter truck they drove for miles like this.
So we stayed in the parking lot for 6 hours waiting for the wind to die. It did slow down a bit and we made the choise to leave. Still heading for Tehuamtepic well It was about 40 kilomiters and I ended up missing the turn I hate GPS it was wrong again. We had no place to turn around so I just kept going. We are parked at a rest area by a toll booth and the wind is still so strong we are going to have to tie our self's in bed tonight the old RV is just a bouncing.
