This morning me and Brenda went for a walk on the beach. We could see this plastic bottle up the beach so we walked to it to see what it was. Still have no idea what it was for. After a mile or so up the beach we figured Lara should be up and ready to get going by now so we went back to the RV and headed out.
We were told the nicest beach on this coast was at Boca del Cielo so we headed for it about 15miles south of here. The town was about as depressed as this place but to get to the beach you had to take a boat and it cost 150 pesos. We could see it from the boat launch and there was about 2 dozen restaurants and there was not a single person there so we passed on going to it.
And headed south another 10 miles and came to this little town and there was a sign for an ecological park so we headed for it and came across this place. We thought it was going to be a boat ride through the mangrove's but the boat ride in the mangrove was only about a kilometer.

The guy driving the boat kept telling us stuff about the mangroves but not sure what he was saying other than there was 3 kinds of them. Or that was what I thought he said.
It was kind of nice didn't see any crocs but did see lots of birds.Then we were out of them and heading over to the island.
Very strange place they had a bunch of cabanas and 4 restaurants
Only 2 of the restaurants were still open and there was only 4 other people there.The beach was the same as where we are camped except no one at all was here. I think some time ago this was a busy place but it has just died I cant figure out why there is no one around any more. Its kind of sad seeing these places looking so depressed.
There was a bunch of tripadvisor signs here I need to see if I can find it on there site when we have some good internet.

We just headed back to the RV after this exciting day and decided to head out in the morning not sure how far we will get If we get some internet I'll let you know were I we end up.
Hey guys... loving your trip report. Seems far more adventurous and off the beaten path this time 'round. Nice. As your CB neighbour, must say 'it's good to be you' at this moment! Currently snow piled up to our hips and more on the way. Take your time coming home.

ReplyDeleteGerry, I sure you guys will love Bahias del Huatulco. Turn off MX200 signs to golf course. It is a 4 lane divided and where it hits the beach road look for sign to RV park.(Run by Fonatur) Only 50p per person, toilets, showers & dump but no electricity. Walk through the mangroves to the beach. You are next to golf course and near all the hotels. It;s a short drive to Crucieta for shopping and restaurants. Nice beaches in all the bays.
